How to install a own "Live" Webcam?

Specialy now, when in many Areas a fast DSL is available, you should think about the Option
to go LIVE better than to upload you Webcam Pics by automatic FTP.

HOW TO:

1. Download: http://www.sytexis.com/bin/live_webcam_tracker.exe

Is a easy to handle Shareware Streaming Server. There are other Options, but this tiny
Software is easy to use also for Beginners. You can work with it for a unlimited Time
for free as long you can live with a Copyright Message in your Stream. Also you may
purchase it for only $29.95. Also you can stream Sound if you like.

2: Download: http://www.no-ip.com/downloads.php?page=win

Is the Software to make your Live Stream also access able when you DSL IP is not static.
(Many Users are on a DSL Line with dynamic IP Addresses, what mean, when you start
your DSL Router you get always a new/another IP from your Provider.)

3: Install: Webcam Tracker Live

onto your Computer and start the Software.
You may put this Program in your Start/Programs/Startup Directory to start automatic
when your Windows starts. In the Configuration you choose your Camera and start
by pressing the big green Arrow. Now you should see your Webcam Picture in this
Software and you are ready to stream.
There is a port (8080) where your Video is streamed into the Net. Should your Router
or Provider block this Port you have to change it in your Router (open Socket 8080
for TCP) The Speed does not need normaly more than 48kb, but for sure your can
play a bit with the Settings. Also my Experience is that a small Cam do not need
more than 4 Users online at the same Time. For more you should have a high Speed
Bandwith.

4: Activate your dynamic IP Routing

On the Page of http://no-ip.com register an Account and add a new Host.
Choose a Hostname (for example your: mycam.zapto.org) Hosttype DNS Host A
and click create Host.
Start the No-IP Software on you computer and login with the same Userdata as you
registered on no-ip.com . You should see a small funny Icon that you can activate
and you will see that the Software is telling you. "IP updated" From now on, this
Software looks what is your IP and connect this Number automatic to the Domain
(http://mycam.zapto.org) So your Computer is always access able with the same
Name, also when your IP should change.

5: Testing

Try a Ping from your Command line: Windows Start/Run and cmd.exe . When the
black window is open type:  ping mycam.zapto.org  you should see an Answer that
this Page sends some respond. Congratulation. Your Computer is available from outside.

When your Webcam Tracker Live is running you could call a Friend to type:
http://mycam.zapto.org in his Browser and when all is ok, he should see your
Live Webcam stream.   Why you have to call a friend and can not test by yourself?
Under normal Circumstances your Router will know when you like to access your own
Computer and will not connect to the Internet to get the necessary Data. Thats the
Reason you need a Friend. There is for sure also a Way to do tell the Router to do that
but should you know how, you may tell me :)

Now your should have your own Webcam Live Stream.

6: Publishing your new WebCam

Enjoy and let us know when you are online by registering your new LiveStream WebCam into
our Webcam Mapper Database.

Make a Screen Capture of your Cam and register this preview pic with your Live Stream
WebAddresse (http://mycam.zapto.org). Do not forget to point your exact Location on the
Map. That makes it much more cool to see where the Cam is located.
